Most of y'all know that I have been really frustrated for a while now with figuring out how to live out the Christian life. I want to do it perfectly, and I can't. I've felt so disconnected from the Lord's love, but I haven't known how to get back. This morning I got revelation again of the Lord's mercy. It's nothing you don't know, but it started to make sense in my heart and mind again today so I thought I'd share.
For a long time now I've been confessing things to the Lord, but not letting Him take them away. This morning in 7:30 prayer I was basically giving myself a lecture about how I have to live with the consequences of my sin even though I am forgiven. To some extent this is true that there are earthly consequences, but I had it really confused. He has taken away all separation between us. Jesus died and took the penalty for me. He forgives all of my sins and heals all of my diseases. He removes my transgression from me. I don't have to confess and then stay under it. He desires mercy not sacrifice.
This kind of love messes with me. I don't understand it. God goes after us in our sin. He brings back the captive ones from Zion. Basically, the ones in compromise and sin who are under judgment, He redeems out of their punishment. In Judges, over and over again God raises up a deliverer to bring His people out of the captivity created by their sin!
Also, all morning He's been teaching me from Psalm 32:
"Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity:" to impute means to regard, reckon, or value...in other words, the Lord doesn't assess our value or look at us according to our sin, but according to His love!
Also, He urges us not to be brought near by "bit and bridle" but by His lovingkindness (vs 9-10). In my life I've tried to live and respond to discipline and consequences. This isn't the Lord's heart at all. He's forgiven me, and THAT is His invitation and my motivation to run to Him!
I can't get over how incredible His mercy is! Jesus gave His ALL in love for us while we were yet sinners.
Anyway, I love you all!

No one writes in me WAHHH
I don't have much to say, but no one ever puts new stuff in here so anything's probably better than nothing? Maybe? I might prove this to be wrong. Well, the Scroll's the Scroll so I guess it will speak for itself! So here's a verse I'm REALLY appreciating right now:
"WHEN I PASSED YOU AND SAW YOU SQUIRMING IN YOUR BLOOD, I SAID TO YOU WHILE YOU WERE IN YOUR BLOOD, 'LIVE.' YES, I SAID TO YOU WHILE YOU WERE IN YOUR BLOOD, 'LIVE.'" -EZEKIAL 16:6
wow.
